DIY Vanilla Coconut Body Butter

DIY Vanilla Coconut Body Butter

There’s something about the sweet scent of vanilla that soothes the soul like almost nothing else can. Perhaps it’s because of pleasant childhood memories, or maybe it’s a therapeutic property of the vanilla bean itself. Whatever the reason, getting a whiff of vanilla tends to draw us in and keep us longing for more.

When you feel the urge to pamper your skin as well as your soul, this gentle, fragrant moisturizing recipe won’t disappoint. Its peaceful yet yummy scent makes it just right for anytime day or night, when you’re ready to relax and destress. All of the wholesome ingredients in this recipe enhance the vitality of your skin just the way nature intended, while making you feel ready for the warm weather of summer.

Coconut oil is easily absorbed by your body, providing moisture and protection and giving this super-simple DIY hydrator its rich, creamy texture. Vitamin-rich jojoba oil is very much like your skin’s own healthy natural oils—which enables it to calm and nourish dry skin for a clear and agelessly radiant complexion. The vanilla essence doesn’t just contribute the dreamy fragrance—it also delivers powerful antioxidants to refresh and rejuvenate your face and body. We love adding a touch of lavender essential oil to comfort your soul and reveal your most gorgeous, glowing self.

Even if you’re new to DIY skincare, you’ll be able to whip up a batch in less than five minutes.

Highly suggested: light a candle, play some soft music, and smooth on this luxurious homemade body butter. Before you know it, your skin and your senses will be swept away to a deliciously calm and happy place.

Ingredients:
• 2 tablespoons organic coconut oil (room temperature)*
• 1 tablespoon organic jojoba oil
• ¾ teaspoon organic vanilla essence
• 1 drop lavender essential oil

Instructions:
In a small bowl, stir all ingredients together to combine. Store in a cool, dark place, in an air-tight container like a mason jar.

*Note: Coconut oil is very soft in warm weather, but it begins to solidify at cool temperatures. If you need to soften your coconut oil so it will mix easily with the other ingredients, simply warm it in the microwave for 7 to 15 seconds, or melt it over a double boiler before preparing this recipe.
